Chamberlight

One lantern, and rooms that cannot agree on what they need.

A circular chamber seen from above. A lantern sits low and left
of centre; a pillar of basalt stands up and to the right of it,
throwing a hard wedge of shadow across the far wall. A violet
moth-mark lies inside that shadow; an amber bloom-mark on the
near wall is left in the light. Both are satisfied.
A solved chamber. The moth is covered, the bloom is not.

Violet marks are sleeping moths — they need darkness. Amber marks are blooms — they need light. Between them stand pillars of basalt, and the shadows they throw are real: move the lantern an inch and every wedge of darkness swings in answer.

Every chamber is one question asked two ways at once. Satisfying the moths is easy on its own. Satisfying the blooms is easy on its own. The room is the space between those two easy answers, and the lantern is the only thing you control.
